Rosh Kollel

Outgoing and friendly, Rabbi Yeshaya Levin joins the Tucson community as Rosh Kollel. He grew up in Seattle, WA, where he developed a love of the outdoors. His Torah scholarship and keen understanding of people make him a valuable addition to the Tucson community. Mrs. Rivky Levin (Max), M. Ed., originally from Rochester, NY, is a warm and gifted educator who has spent the last few years running a popular daycare in New York, in addition to her outreach experience with high school girls. She is looking forward to working together with the families of Jewish Tucson in her role as Preschool Director. The Levins are the parents of 3 girls.


Rosh Kollel/Director of Outreach

Personable and dedicated Rabbi Yehuda Palgon leads our Kollel as Director of Programming. Whether in summer camps in New York and Utah, as Pirchei Director in his native Miami, FL, or in his youth performances across the country, Rabbi Palgon brings a sense of fun and passion wherever he goes. Mrs. Tehilla Palgon (Leiter), CPA grew up in Manalapan, NJ, where her parents were the Rabbi and Rebbetzin, and continues that proud tradition of sensitive and caring community outreach. The Palgons are the parents of 3 children (1 boy and 2 girls).


Executive Director

Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Rabbi Aharon Dovid Heisler is a capable go-getter with an entrepreneurial spirit. Having served as an administrator in Camp Mogen Avraham, a Rebbi at the Ottawa Torah Institute, and a special projects coordinator in RSA’s financial office, Rabbi Heisler brings a wealth of experience in building Torah infrastructure. Mrs. Sara Heisler (Zaitschek), M. Ed., grew up in Milwaukee, WI, in a family deeply rooted in Jewish outreach. An experienced educator with an artistic flair, Mrs. Heisler is looking forward to running events for women in the community, in addition to teaching first grade. The Heislers are the parents of 3 children (2 girls and 1 boy).

Rabbi Yehuda Leiter grew up as the son of a Rabbi in Rochester, NY, and Manalapan NJ, and was raised with a deep appreciation of the value of making an impact on the Jewish community. He has been the head counselor of Camp Nageela West for the past 8 years. Rabbi Leiter loves to connect with and understand people of all backgrounds. Mrs. Rochie Leiter (Max), LMSW, originally from Richboro, PA, is an accomplished social worker, with experience with school social work and suicide and abuse prevention, as well as working with Holocaust survivors. She is dedicated to improving the lives of all those around her, through her social work and Kiruv. The Leiters are the parents of 3 children (2 girls and 1 boy).


TTC Scholar

Rabbi Josh Levy is a friendly and energetic Kiruv professional, with years of experience both in adult and children’s outreach programs. Originally from Manalapan, NJ, Rabbi Levy is excited to help develop Jewish infrastructure in the Tucson community. Mrs. Avigail Levy (Garber), MA SLP-CCC TSSLD, grew up in Queens, NY. Continuing her career in elementary education, Mrs. Levy will be teaching first grade, as well practicing speech therapy. She is excited to bring her experience and passion for education to Tucson. The Levys are the parents of 3 children (2 boys and 1 girl).


TTC Scholar

Rabbi Tzvi Aryeh Rennert is a talented and conscientious Baal Koreh from Queens, NY. His easy-going and optimistic personality has endeared him to the boys he has taught to read from the Torah and prepared for their Bar Mitzvahs. Mrs. Tsirel Rennert (Pacht), ACAS, also from Queens, NY, works as an actuary. She enjoys writing, and her pieces are regularly published in various Jewish magazines. The Rennerts are the parents of 3 girls.
